OUR LAST EVER SHITSHOW is on December 3, 2021! Time TBA but it’ll probably start a bit late.
In this episode to contrast our last one (S6E16),
Just the Tip
*Paden reminds you that if you have a filesystem that you’re trying to free up some space on and deleting data doesn’t seem to free it, you should lsof and find any process holding that directory/file(s) open and stop it.
** And check your inode usage too!
** This happens due to an improperly closed file handler, a filesystem that has not synced yet, etc.
Notes
Starts at 16m18s.
I was drinking a Troegs Sunshine Pilsner. Paden was drinking his Deep Eddie vodka with apple juice. Jthan was drinking Angel’s Envy bourbon.
- Enriching projects/“wins”, and where we’re headed in our career
- Jthan was responsible for a large amount of data.
- He wants to be a storage engineer and work more with data storage/usage in the future.
- He also wants to min/max optimizations and be a professional ricer.
- I really enjoyed digging into LDAP and systems interactions.
- Moving forward, I’m interested in working with large enterprise-scale systems.
- Paden has learned a lot about system stability.
- Jthan was responsible for a large amount of data.
15 Clams
In this segment, Jthan shares with you a little slice of life. The title is a reference to this video. (2m16s in)
Starts at 45m05s.
Jthan talked a lot about ducks and clams. Again.
He also wants to know why cats like can openers.
Errata
- Jthan is indeed a sussy baka.
- The Shitshow is coming up! December 3, 2021. Time TBA but it will almost assuredly be in the evening.
- On listening back, it definitely sounds like Jthan said “Anal Envy” that one time. I’m with you, Paden.
